A few years ago, while on a mission trip, I came across a challenging story that I won’t forget. This made me think about the adventure in life; to take risks while trusting in God instead of having regrets later.
“Your greatest regret at the end of your life will be the lions you didn’t chase. You will look back longingly on risks not taken, opportunities not seized, and dreams not pursued. Stop running away from what scares you most and start chasing the God-ordained opportunities on your path.” Mark Batterson
Risk-taking is believing in yourself you can do it while trusting in God that He is with us. His Presence is with us. Knowing that He will open doors for you. He will make a way even if there’s no way. Here’s my paraphrased version… read on.
“Your greatest regret at the end of your life will be the lions you didn’t chase. You will look back longingly on risks not taken, opportunities not seized, and dreams not pursued. Stop running away from what scares you most and start chasing the God-ordained opportunities on your path. we waited too long to make.”Mark Batterson
“Have you heard of the frog that was born at the bottom of the well? He thought life couldn’t get any better till one day he looked up and saw daylight. He climbed up, look around to investigate.
Amazed, He found a much larger pond than the one he lived in. Jumping and thumping further away, he discovered a lake bigger than where he came from again.
Eventually, he reached the seas and the ocean. Water in abundance everywhere. It dawned on him just how limited his thinking has been. He thought everything he needed was down in the well. But that‘s just a drop in the bucket compared to the things out there for him to enjoy.
Maybe you’re living today in your own little well, reluctant to leave your comfort zone, settling for a limited and safe existence while God has rivers of life ‘deep enough for you to swim in’. Wouldn’t you like to step in faith, experience new depths in Him and go where you’ve never been before?
Remember, the enemy will do everything he can to keep you focused on your background, your lack of formal education, your appearance and your limited resources. It doesn’t matter whether your short of money, people, energy or time.
What God invites you to do will always be greater than the resources you start with.. You don’t have to let FEAR limit your vision, when God is your source, because His supply is unlimited! He’s got great things in store for you today… so start thinking outside the box.”
